Tata Nexon SUV launched in India at INR 5.85 lakh

Tata Motors has ultimately rolled out the compact SUV Nexon that is claimed to be the flagship model from the automaker’s stable this year. The new SUV is on sale at an introductory price sticker of INR 5.85 lakh. But the top end variant of the same will make you spend the amount of INR 9.45 lakh.

Under the hood, the Nexon comes loaded with both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol-powered Nexon is loaded with an all-new turbocharged 1.2-litre engine that is capable of churning out the maximum power of 108 bhp along with a peak torque of 170 Nm. On the other hand, the one packed with 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine uses the spits out 108 bhp peak power and 260 Nm peak torque. As of now, both the engine options are available only with the six-speed manual transmission. The AMT transmission equipped trims are expected to launch in the coming future.

Moreover, the offered three driving modes consisting of Eco, City, and Sport with both the engine trims will supply different riding experience and fuel efficiency at every switch. If the fuel mileage is the matter of concern, the petrol motor is rated to return 17 kmpl mileage. While the diesel-powered trim offers an excellent mileage figure of 21.5kmpl.

Dimensionally measuring 3994 mm in length, 1811 mm in width and 1607 mm in height, the Nexon has the wheelbase of 2498 mm along with high ground clearance of 209 mm. Furthermore, painted in the dual tone color scheme, the Nexon gets the embellishment of LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), fog lamps, LED taillamps, indicators on ORVMs, roof rails, and alloy wheels.

Moving inside the cabin, the Nexon has Multi-function steering wheel along with features such as Touchscreen infotainment unit, Android Auto, Harmann audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, USB/Aux-in and Rear AC vents are there to take care the comfort and convenience of the occupants.

The new compact SUV’s safety package is full of bits such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, remote locking, crumple zones, seat belts with pre-tensioners to take the life of the creatures inside.

In terms of rivalry, the new Tata Nexon will go in the competition with the likes of Maruti Vitara Breeza, Ford EcoSport, Fiat Avventura Urban Cross, Honda WRV, Mahindra TUV 300, Mahindra NuvoSport, etc.
