Last year in October, Tesla Motors had come up with Version 7.0 software that brought with it a new range of Autopilot functions. This not only gave an enjoyable driving experience to the occupants, but also offered active safety, while driving on highways. In a bid to update the same, the 7.1 version has been recently rolled out. This iteration of the software has introduced an expanded form of Autopilot along with a new function named 'Summon'.
Summon has been made available on the Model S and Model X and is still in its beta stage, which means it doesn't come as a default setting. To use it, one will have to configure it by following these steps- Controls> Settings> Driver Assistance> Autopilot.

As per official claims, Summon enables you to call up your car from the parking space and send it back to the garage. Using this feature, your Tesla will move in and out of your garage on its own and you don't have to be worried about the congested parking spaces also. Mr Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla, also hopes to develop this feature to such an extent that in 2 years, one would able to use it across different cities. Moreover, he also says that the car will drive on its own across the country and would be able to charge itself.

Well, the way technology is turning every distant imaginative idea into a reality, nothing seems to be impossible now. A few days back, Volvo had introduced a functionality where one could call up his car using Microsoft Band 2 and now Tesla has come up with Summon. Many other automakers are also making efforts in making innovative changes and someday hopefully, every one would be able to afford such amazing technology. We don't know the future, but technology is something that never fails to impress us!
