Third-Gen Mercedes-Benz CLS Spotted Testing for the First Time

The next generation Mercedes-Benz CLS caught on camera for the first time during testing in Germany. Despite being heavily disguised with the swirly black and white cover, the four-door coupe’s sloping silhouette is giving a clear outline resembling somewhat the likes of new E-Class Coupe. According to sources, there is more similarity with the said unit than what we are getting to see here. Moreover, the new CLS class also reported to underpin by the current W123 E-Class platform platform as well as to retain the same badge instead of switching to CLE.

Though the third generation CLS will run on the same W213 E-Class platform, we can expect it to be longer lighter and wider. Furthermore, the platform will allow it to carry a series of petrol and diesel engines capacities of four, six and eight-cylinder powertrains. As the car is heavily camouflaged from all the corners all we can do is merely make some idea about its design and other technical tweaks that will be provided inside the cabin.
