Triumph Recalled New Bonneville Duo Street Twin and T120

The British motorcycle maker company, Triumph, which received so much praise and applause for its newly launched Bonneville series, a range of modern classic motorcycles, motorcycles which are influenced from the retro look of Bonneville 59 and equipped with modern technology to make rides thrilling with unconventional comfort and practical handling, is facing a fuel leakage problem in its duo Street Twin and T120, which is a major risk for the rider's life if the bike caught fire. So to overcome from this issue the automaker has made a recall of the faulty bikes over this fuel leak issue.

In the UK market, total 48 has been found affected via a recall notice on the Driver & Vehicle Standard Agency which stated,”There is a possibility of a fuel leak via fuel pump sub harness because of a problem with the moulding tool used to manufacture the sub harness. A fuel leak could heighten the risk of fire”.

While in the US market, the report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) tells that a fault of damaged insulation in a wire was found after the disassembling of developed test bike in January. The wire was found damaged from the bunch of wire which passing through the fitted connector to the fuel pump plate. Moreover, it were also wet from the fuel which had flow down towards the sealed main harness connector and after investigation conclusion came out the fault originated during production.

At the end of January, an engineer met with the supplier of the sub harness about the issue, who had confirmed the used tool to manufacturer faulty part has been changed. that the tooling used to make the faulty part had changed. Triumph with the supplier trying to identify batches of affected bikes and parts.

The new bonneville series made its debut in India at the departed 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The bikes with improved powertrain and host of electronics including traction control, ride by wire, ABS, multiple riding modes and many more to made this retro styling motorcycle modern.
