Mahindra has teased the video of its upcoming pick-up truck named Imperio. This vehicle is nothing but a revised version of the existing Genio model. As per the official claims, the new range of pickups will enter the automobile market by January, 2016. Genio, which was launched back in 2011 is itself the carrying version of Xylo. The present model is a 5-seater available in Double Cab body style with two variants namely Standard and VX.

The Genio stands on 215/70 R15 tubeless tyres that are wrapped in 6Jx15 rims that will be shared with the upcoming Imperio. Further, the list of mechanical fitments will also be common in both pick ups that consist of features like independent power steering, coil springs and ventilated disk brakes upfront, double acting hydraulic shock absorbers, leaf springs and drum brakes at the rear, etc.

Discussing the source of power for the Genio, it's an mDI CRDe inline 4-cylinder 2.5 litre motor that is tuned to generate 75Hp of maximum power and peak torque of 220 Nm between 1400 to 2200 rpm. This output is transferred to the wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Talking about the payload capacity, it's measured around 1100 kgs for standard and 1070 kg for the VX trim. As far as the styling is concerned, the Imperio is going to be more superior than the current Genio.
