Updated Version of Mahindra Thar to be Launched on July 22

Mahindra & Mahindra have announced that soon a facelift version of the Thar model will be launched on July 22. This 4x4 SUV model will be introduced with certain updates in its interior and exterior portions. However, no major changes will be made to the mechanical configuration. Mahindra Thar was launched for the first time in the country in the year 2010. Later, in 2013 the powertrain of this SUV was upgraded so as to improve its driving dynamics. So, this is the second time the Thar is undergoing major changes since its launch. This vehicle has been caught testing in Maharashtra earlier this year.

Mahindra Thar Exterior

According to some recent reports, the facelift version of Thar carries a plastic-metallic front bumper, new canopy, tilted rear pillar, fender extension and side-steps. Apart from these, no major changes will be carried out in the exterior body as compared to its previous version. However, the cabin will get more updates in terms of bigger seats and new dual tone pattern. The air vents will be circled by silver accents and a new instrument cluster is also present in the car. The centre console housing the gear lever, handbrakes and cup holders will highlight a beige cover.

Mahindra Thar Interior

Under the hood, the mechanical configuration will remain unchanged offering two engine options. The facelift model will be powered by a 2.5 litre DI unit that will generate 63 Hp and 182.5 Nm of torque. Another powertrain configuration will offer a 2.5 litre CRDe unit that produces 105 Hp and 247 Nm of torque. For transmission, a five-speed manual gearbox will be offered that will be linked to either an FWD or an AWD setup.
