Vespa GTS 300 to Arrive India in First Half of 2017

Vespa has successfully launched the Vespa 947 Emporio and its 70th Anniversary Edition in the country, and now the company is planning to put the curtains off from its most powerful scooter in India dubbed as Vespa GTS 300. The two wheeler manufacturing firm is going to introduce its new model in the first half of 2017 as completely-built-units. Apart from this, the company is also planning to start importing piaggio as SKD (Semi Knocked Down) or CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units in India, as the demand of the scooter is really appreciative. This step of the company will also help to reduce the pricing of Piaggio.

Vespa GTS 300 has already been showcased at the 2015 India Bike Week and the 2014 Auto Expo in the country. As per the looks the upcoming scooter looks similar to its siblings, but the thing to notice is, the new Vespa GTS 300 will feature a more powerful engine with advanced technology. The upcoming scooter will be powered by a 278cc single-cylinder motor coupled with a CVT automatic transmission, which is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 21.2 PS along with 22.3 Nm of peak torque. The scooter also features a full steel body to provide high-speed stability.

The beauty rides on 12” alloy wheels and can go up to a high speed of 128kmph, which can be easily controlled with high-performance braking system. Furthermore keeping the safety part in mind, the company also provides a setup comprising 220mm disc brake units at both ends paired with dual channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard. A twin-shock setup at the rear and a single hydraulic shock absorber in front keeps up the handling and comfort part at its best.

Claimed to offer a decent mileage of 28kmpl, the scooter will be available at a minimum price tag of Rs 4 lakh initially.
