The year 2014 was a forgettable journey for the German automaker Volkswagen in India, despite making record sales this year all over the world. Now, the company is already rolling out the plans to launch a series of new and facelift cars this year in the speedly growing Indian car market. Working on the plans, the details are coming out in the market that Volkswagen might launch a new version its famous Vento sedan. The car, although received a facelift last year, but just merely included the engine change with new 1.5 Litre power mill. However, Vento has been launched as a special edition on many occasions, but the sales volumes still are below the naming standards.

VW New Vento

Volkswagen claims the Vento is most manufactured car at the company's Chakan plant, but only around 1050 units get sold every month which are way behind than its famous competitors Honda City's 6000 units per month sale. Also, the reports are suggesting that new Vento has already started testing on the roads with changes to be emerged yet. On mechanical aspect, the car will still be powered by a 1.6 Litre petrol, 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine. The 1.2 Litre petrol unit will available with only 7-speed DSG and the diesel engine will be mated with both manual and DSG transmission systems.

The exports have been on the brighter side though, with Volkswagen selling Polo hatchback and Vento sedan to 32 countries in the world. Now for India, you could expect this new Vento to come out in the middle of 2015 with the expected price tag of INR 7-10 Lac Ex-Showroom.
