When your Bike Misfires, the Time is to Look Inside the Engine

Motorbikes and cars are experiencing very less maintenance compared to their gone era due to the modern technologies and materials. The quality has grown at a faster pace with time while recording simultaneous decrease in vehicle hiccups. It sometimes happens that people suffer certain lag in power and torque output which is not a good thing for enthusiasts like me. The engines usually found in motorbikes are petrol driven and they do not require frequent care from their masters. The engine follows the four principle steps of compression, ignition, combustion and exhaust. The ignition sometimes faces counter production due to poor riding and bad conditions. This is a weird situation when misfire occurs.

Drive Your Ride: Chain Drive VS Drive Shaft, Is There a Big Difference?

The Engine Misfire is a technical glitch due to which the engine loses its power and the rider undergo frustrating ride experience. The term can be explained as an issue in the ignition equipments including spark plugs, coils, spark cables etc, which stops one of the cylinders to perform the job.  This kind of lag sometimes creates a panicking situation where rider could only stretch its thoughts to bad reasons or bike’s faults faced in the past. But, the problem could go tinier than our thinking.

The worn out plugs, cables and coils are not the only parts which are responsible for the misfire. If the motorbike or vehicle is years old and completed various checkpoints of the streets, tracks or highways, then the list of causes can make you knock the doors of stores selling pistons, rings, rods, bearing and crank. Well, such situations seldom find any occurrence and you won’t find any reason to pass your engine through the open heart surgery to get these parts replaced.

Raising the Power: Shower the Horse Power, SuperCharger VS TurboCharger

The spark plugs often get eroded due to rough throttle usage and a lot of carbon blocks the functioning of the same. During such situation, one must clean it with a sandpaper or it should be replaced if cleaning isn’t efficient on work. If the problem persists, it’s time to get the bike checked otherwise these operations can be handled by the rider without visiting any mechanic or service point.

Engine Misfire

                                                     1st Cylinder is MisFiring

Present day vehicles usually come with ECU or engine control unit. This circuit holds various instructions for the proper functioning of the vehicle. The keyless ignition, engine immobilizer, throttle response, traction control, ABS etc are the stuff which are directly connected with the ECU and further meets the main engine unit. One can diagnose the engine misfire by connecting a dedicated device to the ECU. A code reader will do the desired job efficiently by displaying the cylinder’s code which is facing the problem.
