Yamaha Bolt R Cruiser Debuted At BIMS 2019

The Yamaha Bolt R, a cruiser offering from the Japanese bikemaker has been showcased at the 2019 Bankok International Motor Show. It packs an all-new 942cc engine and suspension that is carved keeping comfort in mind. Initially, the Bolt was launched in 2013 while the R variant joined the sibling in 2014. The Bolt R is highly popular in the Southeast Asian countries and the recent model received a modern cruiser styling, which makes it stand apart in the crowd.

Dimensionally, the Bolt R measures 2291 mm in length, 944 mm in width and 1120 mm in height along with a wheelbase of 1569 mm. It gets a round headlamp setup with a halogen bulb and circular turn indicators. The suspension now gets a 41 mm front forks with the long travel suspension which offers a comfortable ride even on bad roads. While the rear gets dual-shock absorbers with a piggyback design for gas chambers.

Yamaha Bolt R Head Light

The Bolt R gets a 12-litre fuel tank with a distinct appeal. The placement of a single piece handlebar and forward set foot pegs, the bike offers comfortable riding on longer road trips. The Bolt R settles at the seat height of 690mm which is ideal for short height riders. It is being offered with a single seat option while the rear gets a new fender and an LED tail lamp as well.

Rest on the double-cradle frame, Yamaha Bolt R mounts on a rigid, tuned setup to offer improved handling. The bike uses a drive belt of 21mm with a carbon-fibre core which makes it's more strong and rigid. The Bolt R draws power from 942 cc air-cooled 60 degrees V-Twin with four valves per cylinder. While the pent-roof shaped combustion chamber will supply excellent power delivery along with low-end torque. The power transmission would take place via a mated 5-speed gearbox. While the braking department consists of disc units at both wheels measuring 298mm. The front disc here is floating mounted for better heat distortion. Rides on 12-spoke alloy wheels, the Bolt R gets a 19-inch wheel at front shod up with 100/90 section tyre while the rear gets a 16-inch wheel with 150/80 section tyre.
