Yamaha to introduce a super affordable motorbike, future plans

Yamaha motors have gone through the strategic view this time. Their products are known for enormous power figures and this makes their bikes extreme performers. Recently they introduced the updated FZ FI series, which seems to be under-powered than the earlier model, but the real story is still behind the facts. Now, Yamaha is thinking of a different product. They are planning to bring a US$500 bike.

Yamaha FZ and FZ FI along with a budget bike

The new bike would cost around Rs.30,000 (equivalent to $500). Yamaha didn’t announce any time duration or date for the launching of this new bike. They said “The project is on. At this time we are not sure if the end product will cost USD 500, less or more. But we are working on the project, keeping USD500 as the benchmark price. We are trying our best.”,“It is too early to comment as we don’t know when it will be out, but would like to add that India would be the first market for the product.”

Yamaha also said that they will be selling the current variants of their FZ series bikes in India and the newer variants, i.e. FZ FI series will be positioned above them. Coming to the $500 product, as the price indicates, this new bike will not be a performer, rather, it will target the 100cc segment, which is the most selling category in India and is lead by Bajaj auto limited and Hero Motocorp.
