Yamaha to Consider AI For Enhancing Motorcycle Safety

The Japanese Motorbike maker, Yamaha is going to use the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for building more safer bikes. Also, it will be the first one to armor such an advanced technique, which will further aid them to manufacture machines that ensure proper safety apart from the performance.

As per the words of Hiroyuki Yanagi, Director, Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd, the incorporation of the latest technology will be done to minimize the motorcycle spills. Basically, it is a joint effort of a US research body in which the system functions like the humanoid robots to ride the bikes. The same has been uncovered last year.

“We want to facilitate driving operations of our motorcycles and reduce the burden on riders to allow them to pay more attention to safety. We’ll use the expertise we’ve acquired from robots for our motorcycles. We’ll promote the development of technologies to make motorcycle driving easier.” Yanagi add further.

When discussed about the addition of this technology to the bikes, Yamaha said, it hasn’t decided yet to put the AI-based technique into use. As per the plans, they’ll indulge them in the upcoming motorcycle range and one of the examples is the new Yamaha YZF-R1, which upholds the advanced technology in order to regulate the engine, suspension, and brakes.

By adopting this technology, Yamaha hopes to ameliorate the decreasing graph of the domestic sales and avoid motorcycle accidents like overturns and intense collisions.
