Yamaha’s anticipated motorcycle, Yamaha YZF-R3, will make its appearance in the upcoming weeks, the launching date of R3 has not been confirmed yet. Moreover, the quarter-liter motorcycle will be brought in the Indian shores via CKD route from the Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing facility, Indonesia. The motorcycle will be available in three color options named, Racing Blue, Red and Midnight Black.
Mechanically, the Yamaha R3 is powered by an in-line, twin-cylinder and 321cc engine displacement which has been mated to a constant mesh six speed transmission that manages to produce a maximum power of 42 BHP and 29.6 Nm of torque. The manufacturers have installed the racing DNA of R1M in the engine unit and blessed it with Yamaha’s R series technology that comprises of direct-drive camshaft, low-friction cylinders, forged pistons, etc. For the first time, the Yamaha R3 has made its public premiere at the EICMA, 2014. The EICMA took place in the month of November, 2014 and was being held in Milan, Italy.
The design and body cues adopted from Yamaha R25, which carries twin headlight, curved fuel tank, split seats and nicely placed handlebar. The motorcycle is featured with a newly designed steel frame that will provide adequate stability at the high speed. The YZF-R3 carries a kerb weight of 169 KG, whereas it measures a 41mm KYB front telescopic suspension and rear KYB single shock that will provide an outstanding control. The stopping power is taken care by a front 298mm disc and rear 220mm disc, whereas Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is standard in this motorcycle.
