Microsoft Owned the Technology behind Surface Pen

If you are the admirer of Microsoft’s Surface tablets, then there is a good news to surprise you. The Redmond giant has taken such a great move to expand its business in this arena as they know that people like their Surface devices. They have acquired the technology behind the Digital Pen which has been used for Microsoft’s Surface range of devices.

N-trig is the company which has been developing Surface Pen from years for Microsoft. The Redmond giant even has 6 percent stacks in the N-Trig. But now, the company has made the digital Pen technology own by spending about $ 30 million as per The Wall Street Journal report. However, another report from an Israeli publication Calcalis figured the amount as $200 million.

It is said that N-trig's staff will move to the Microsoft's office later. Well, it's not confirmed yet. The Redmond juggernaut noticed the increasing response for its Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 because of stylus. The overall quarterly business from its Surface tablets company gained is $1 billion. On the other side, the tech giant is also bringing the inking support for its Microsoft Edge browser, so it could help the juggernaut to expand the business making such technology in-house.

N-trig has been in the digital pen manufacturing since 1999 and it worked for several companies like Lenovo and Sony including Microsoft. Well, Microsoft hasn’t disclosed the terms for this deal, amount paid for the deal has also not been disclosed by the Redmond giant.
