The first modular smartphone Blackphone 2 announced at MWC 2015, earlier this year, is the second iteration smartphone by Silent Circle. The first launch was announced a year back and after the researches and innovations, the company has come up with its modular approach to unveil the handset effectively.
The pre-order process has taken place which signifies its availability in September. The previous iteration worth $629 was a predecessor, therefore the improved iteration is expected to cost more. The pricing has not been unveiled yet.
The privacy focussed smartphone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD display. The device carries its power from octa-core processor at a clock speed of 1.7GHz. The internal storage space provided is huge, coupled with 3GB RAM, backed up by 3060mAh battery. The snapper's edge is featured with 13MP camera. The device is provided with a microSD card slot and LTE support.
The smartphone has a drawback that lacks the Google apps support, but to refill the gap, the company is expected to come up with the Secure apps support on its own secure app store. It is also expected to work on tablet dubbed Blackphone+.
Recently, Android for Work has come up with a list of devices that are majorly concerned for the security issues like government and healthcare with strict security and compliance requirements. The list flashes on the Blackphone that will come on top of Android platform with enhanced privacy and security sections.
