Honor 9 Launched With Dual Rear Camera, Kirin 960 Chipset For Global Market

Honor, the Huawei subsidiary smartphone brand, has launched its flagship Honor 9 smartphone in Europe. This latest handset was announced in China a few weeks ago and is now heading to Europe as well. The Honor 9 starts at £380 in the UK for its entry-level variant. Pre-orders for the Honor 9 will begin soon and the phone will be available from the company's Vmall store. Sales are expected to begin sometime next month. Apart from the UK, the smartphone will also be available in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland.

 

To recall, the company had unveiled its all-new Honor 9 smartphone in China on 12th June 2017. In the home market, the new arrival by the company has already been made available online via Vmall, JD.com, Tmall.com, and other websites. In China, the company had launched Honor 9 in three variants, which includes 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 2,299 (Rs. 22,000 approx), 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 2,699 (Rs. 26,000 approx), and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant priced at CNY 2,999 (Rs. 28,500 approx).

Huawei at the launching event in China stated that the new Honor 9 smartphone comes with Huawei Pay out-of-the-box. The highlighting feature of the new Android smartphone is its dual camera setup at the rear side, which includes a 20-megapixel sensor (for monochrome) along with a 12-megapixel sensor (for RGB) with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. An 8-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company for selfie enthusiasts. Additionally, the rear camera of the handset is also capable of recording 4K videos, whereas the front camera can record full-HD videos.

Further specifications of the Dual-SIM smartphone include a 5.15-inch full-HD LTPS display with the resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and 428 ppi of pixel density. It is powered by the company’s own Kirin 960 processor with four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four additional cores at 1.8GHz. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat and also comes with an option to expand the inbuilt storage with up to 256GB via microSD card.

The GSM handset is powered by a 3200mAh non-removable battery and includes USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, and GPRS/ EDGE as connectivity options on board. The new Huawei Honor 9 measures 147.3x70.9x7.45mm, weighs 155 grams and will be available in Amber Gold, Black, and Blue color variants.
