Lava Iris 349i, Iris 404e, Budget Smartphones Unpacked for India

It’s become the trend in today’s tech era for introducing their smartphones, covering all unique and latest features. This trend had begun after Moto E launch and then changed into a big competition among all mobile makers. The domestic Companies are also not untouched from this wave. In this foray of budget smartphones, the homegrown manufacturer Lava has introduced two new smartphones in Iris series, dubbed Iris 349i and Iris 404e. Both smartphones have been listed on Company website and also available to buy at Rs. 2,899 and Rs. 4,499 respectively through an online store.

As per the website listing, both handsets come with dual SIM slot. Lava Iris 349i runs on the aged Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS while Iris 404e supports Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Both OS are dated. Both devices seem lackin in the platform support. It makes us quite surprise that why Company has added such dated OS for its new smartphones while the market has a line of budget smartphones running on Android KitKat.

Lava Iris 349i gets 3.5-inch HVGA display and provides 320x480 pixels resolution. 256MB of RAM and single-core 1GHz processor are quite inappropriate in such arena. This smartphone is also crafted with 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. On the storage front, Iris 349i is paired with 512MB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable upto 32GB via microSD card. Its 1400mAh Li-ion battery is the only okay feature of this handset. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS support are loaded in device for connectivity reasons.

On the other side, the Lava Iris 404e is powered by dual-core 1.2GHz processor and uses 256MB of RAM. Featuring 4-inch WVGA display, this device is capable to hold the screen resolution of 480x800 pixels. On the imaging front, its 2-megapixel rear camera also has LED flash and the front of the device sports 0.3-megapixel snapper for video calling purpose.

Its 2GB of inbuilt storage can further be expandable upto 32GB using microSD card. This smartphone is also packed with 1400mAh Li-ion battery and comes loaded with 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPRS/ EDGE, and FM radio connectivity features.
