LG Unveiled G5 Modular Smartphone in India Today

LG, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer is all about set to launch its flagship smartphone, the G5 at an event in Gurgaon today. However, the availability of the smartphone are not yet known but the smartphone went up for pre-bookings in India via Flipkart and retail stores at Rs. 52,990 last week.

LG Launched G5 Smartphone in India Today

The company added an LG Cam Plus module bundled for free along with an LG G5 pre-booking deal. The main USP of the new LG G5 flagship is the modules or ad-ons called the LG Friends, means the companion devices that can be attached to the G5.

In terms of specifications, the modular smartphone by LG sports a 5.3-inch QHD display having a resolution of 1440*2560 pixels. It is also featuring an always-on display technology. This display technology will allow users to check time, notifications and battery status among other pieces of information. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 2TB) via microSD card slot expansion.

On the photography department, the LG G5 incorporates a 16-megapixel camera at the rear end with laser autofocus on board along with an 8-megapixel front facing camera. The device is operated on latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. Dimensionally, the device is measuring a 149.40x73.90x7.70mm and weighs 159 grams. It is backed by a 2800mAh removable battery.

The company can also be expected to showcase the companion devices in India with the LG G5 including LG 360 VR, LG 360 CAM, LG Rolling Bot, LG Tone Platinum, H3 by B&O Play, LG Smart Controller, and LG Friends Manager.
