LG Unveiled Its Midrange K5 and K8 Smartphones

LG, the South Korean major smartphone manufacturing firm has launched its mid-range smartphones under the K-series dubbed as LG K5 and LG K8. Earlier, the smartphones were showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year.

LG revealed that as for now, both of its smartphones will start rolling out to key markets this week. Initially, the smartphones will go on sale in the selected markets of Europe, CIS, and Latin America. The company further added that the LG K5 will be dubbed as LG Q6 in Mexico. While it's another smartphone LG K8 will be covered up the regions including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America. It is expected that the company will announce the pricing of smartphones on the occasion of its local launch.

As like the other K-series smartphones, the main highlighting USP of the smartphones is the company's UX and an advanced camera without a premium price tag. The company also enriched the K8 smartphone with the support of premium design with curved edges and 2.5D Arc Glass. It is also featuring woven back cover.

For the specifications, the LG K5 features a 5-inch FWVGA display having a resolution of 480*854 pixels and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the storage end, the smartphone houses an 8GB of inbuilt storage, that can be further expandable via microSD card slot expansion and it is operated on Android 5.1 based Lollipop operating system out of the box.

On the camera front, the device bears a 5-megapixel camera at the rear end while the 2-megapixel front facing camera on the board. For the connectivity, the LG K5 includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB - and notably no 4G LTE. It is backed by a 1900mAh battery and will be available in Gold, Silver and Titanium color variants.

On the other hand, the LG K8 is featuring 5-inch HD In-Cell display with a resolution of 720*1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The company has revealed that the smartphone will be available in different RAM versions depending on the market - 1.5GB in EU and North America and 1GB of RAM in Latin America.

The smartphone carried out on Android 6.0 based Marshmallow operating system out of the box. At the photography department, it incorporates 8-megapixel shooter on the rear end while 5-megapixel front shooter on the board. For the storage, it sports an expandable storage slot expansion. It is backed by a 2125mAh removable battery.

The GSM-based smartphone includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and Micro-USB connectivity options and is measuring 146x71.5x8.7mm. It will be available in Gold, Indigo, and White color variants.
