Meizu V8 and V8 Pro Featuring 5.7-Inch 18:9 Displays Launched in China

Meizu, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has added two new smartphones in its lineup, dubbed as Meizu V8 and V8 Pro, along with the Meizu 16X and X8.

The key highlights of the newly launched smartphones include a 5.7-inch display, 18:9 aspect ratio, 5-megapixel selfie snapper and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The company has also revealed the price and availability details of Meizu V8 and V8 Pro.

Most of the specifications of Meizu V8 and V8 Pro are identical to each other apart from some minor differences. The Meizu V8 comes with a single rear camera, whereas the V8 Pro features a dual rear camera.

The Meizu V8 comes with a price tag of CNY 799 (approximately Rs. 8,400), whereas the Meizu V8 Pro has been priced at CNY 1,098 (approximately Rs. 11,600).

Both are available for pre-bookings at Meizu official website in China as well as through Tmall, JD.com, and Suning. The budget segment Meizu V8 and V8 Pro smartphones will be available for purchase from 26th September 2018 at the aforementioned stores and website.

The Meizu V8 comes in Black and White color options, whereas the Meizu V8 Pro is available in two color options including Black and Grey.

Meizu V8 and V8 Pro Specifications

As we already mentioned, the Meizu V8 and V8 Pro share almost similar specifications. Have a look at the specifications of both smartphones.

Both the Meizu V8 and V8 Pro have a 5.7-inch HD+ display. Both smartphones feature 720x1440 pixels resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio. Both of them support dual-sim (Nano) and run on Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with Flyme OS.

Under the hood, the Meizu V8 comes with MediaTek MT6739 SoC integrated with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be extended further up to 128GB by using a microSD card.

On the other hand, Meizu V8 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC integrated with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB internal storage configuration. The users can further extend the storage capacity up to 128GB by using a microSD card.

For photography, the Meizu V8 gets a single 13-megapixel rear camera featuring an aperture of f/2.2 and two-colour dual-LED flash module. Up front, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel selfie snapper with an aperture of f/1.9.

On the flip side, the Meizu V8 Pro packs dual 12MP+5MP rear cameras, both sensors offering f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera panel features a two-color dual-LED flash module.

For selfies and video calling, the Meizu V8 Pro has a similar 5-megapixel camera featuring an aperture of f/1.9. The selfie camera on Meizu V8 and V8 Pro also supports face unlock feature and also has a circular-shaped fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.

The Meizu V8 is bundled with a 3,200mAh battery whereas the Meizu V8 Pro gets a 3,100mAh battery. The dimensions of Meizu V8 are 147.5x72.7x8.1mm and weight is 145 grams, while the Meizo V8 Pro measures and weighs 147.5x72.7x8.1mm and 159 grams.

Both the Meizu V8 and V8 Pro supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ GLONASS, 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port. Both devices are equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, a proximity sensor, and a software gyroscope.
