Microsoft India has put on another product to its portfolio of Windows 10 smartphones by the launch of Lumia 550 in the country. The smartphone went on sale last week in Europe and now it has reached the Indian shores. The Windows 10 mobile, Lumia 550 is priced at Rs. 9,399 and will go on sale from December 23, 2015. Presently, Lumia 550 is the company's least-expensive smartphone, which runs Windows 10 Mobile out-of-the-box.
After the recent launch of Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL, Lumia 550 will be the third smartphone with Windows 10 that will be launched in India. It is not going to support Windows 10 Continuum feature, which makes the devices act themselves like computers having a desktop-style interface.

The Lumia 550 is packed with features such as the recent Microsoft Edge Browser, renovated Outlook mail, OneDrive, Microsoft Office and Glance Screen, which shows notifications without unlocking the smartphone.
Specs-wise, the device features a 4.7-inch HD display with 720x1280 pixel resolution and 315ppi pixel density. It is equipped by a powerful Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 chipset, cortex A7 Quad-core 1.1 GHz processor packed with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. Inbuilt storage is of 8GB, which can be further expanded upto 200GB via MicroSD card. Unlike Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL, Lumia 550 supports single Micro-Sim.
In terms of photography, the handset carries a 5MP primary snapper with HD video recording, LED flash, and an f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP sensor at the front with an f/2.8 aperture and 480p video recording. The rear camera also includes a host of features like auto/manual exposure, geo-tagging, and touch-focus.
Coming to the connectivity options, Lumia 550 has got 4G LTE (Cat. 4) connectivity claiming a top download speed of up to 150 MBPS and upload speed of up to 50 MBPS. Other options include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with a functionality of hotspot, FM radio and A-GPS. A replaceable 2100 mAh battery completes the package. Color options include- Glossy White and Matte Black.
