Nokia 7.1 Launched in India With Dual Rear Camera, PureDisplay and More

Nokia 7.1 has been launched by HMD Global in India on November 30. The attractions of the device include PureDisplay, dual rear sensors featuring Zeiss optics and a 3,060 mAh battery. The Nokia 7.1 was initially unveiled at an event in London in the previous month and at that time the company had reported that the device would soon unveil in India which has turned true now. HMD Global has disclosed the launch offers, price and availability details of Nokia 7.1 at India launch event.

While addressing on the Nokia 7.1 India launch, Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head, India of HMD Global, said, "We know a lot of our fans in India enjoy creating videos and watching content on their smartphones. That's why it was important for us to bring both Zeiss optics and PureDisplay technology together in a versatile device that offers a superior content experience, regardless of whether you're taking photos for your social media or watching the latest series on your favorite streaming service."

Nokia 7.1 Price and Availability

In India, the Nokia 7.1 comes with a price tag of Rs. 19,999 for single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. It will be available for purchase from December 7 in India via mobile retailers and Nokia official website.

The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model of Nokia 7.1 was unveiled particularly in London which has not been unveiled in the Indian market.

To lure customers, Nokia has collaborated with telecom Ai rtel to provide great offers on the purchase of Nokia 7.1. Prepaid Airtel subscribers will get 1TB of 4G internet data on on prepaid plans starting from Rs. 199, while postpaid Airtel subscribers will get 120GB of internet data with complimentary three-month Netflix subscription as well as 1-year Amazon Prime subscription only on postpaid plans amounting Rs. 499 or more.

HDFC credit and debit cards holders can avail 10 percent instant cashback and monthly EMI options on Nokia 7.1.

Nokia 7.1 Specifications

As far as specifications are concerned, the Nokia 7.1 features a 5.84-inch full-HD+ PureDisplay along with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and having a screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. On the top, the smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the device from scratches and damages.

From the software front, the Nokia 7.1 runs on Android Oreo OS. As a part of the Android One programme, soon the device will get the Android 9.0 Pie update.

Inside the Nokia 7.1, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage which can be further extended up to 400GB by using a microSD card.

In terms of lens, the Nokia 7.1 comes with vertically stacked dual camera sensors on the rear panel consisting of a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor with an aperture lens of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively. The primary sensor featuring autofocus while the secondary sensor featuring a fixed focus. The company has offered Zeiss optics, two-phase detection and EIS on the rear camera set up.

For selfies and video calling, the Nokia 7.1 gets an 8MP sensor featuring autofocus, an aperture lens of f/2.0 and 84-degree field-of-view.

The Nokia 7.1 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-SIM (Nano), microSD card as connectivity options. It comes with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The weight and dimensions of the device are 159 grams and 149.7x71.19x7.99mm respectively. Under the hood, it is powered by a 3,060mAh battery bundled with 18W fast charging which could charge 50 percent battery of the device with half an hour.
