Projecting 3D Holograms using your Smartphone is now Possible

A US-based startup company has been making its effort to mesmerize the people by its completely new invention. The new invention is a very small chip which will project 3D holograms through your smartphone.

Ostendo, which is located in California has developed a complete new projector chip which is quite tiny in size and can easily be fit into a smartphone. Wall Street Journal reported that the company has been working from past nine years to create a mini projector of Tic Tac size.

The small projector takes the power from a chip. The chip has the capability of controlling brightness, color and it can also handle the angle of each light beam. The single chipset has the capability of projecting video with a 48-inch diagonal on any plain surface.

The first generation of this technology had the capability of projecting 2D images and videos only. Ostendo Quantum Photonic Imager is made up of thin LEDs (micro light-emitting diodes), image processor and a software which will be able to render the images properly.

It has six chips that emit the 3D image into the air. The projector and chip are expected to launch in next summer by adding $30 to the smartphone price.
