Xiaomi, the renowned smartphone is all set to unveil selfie- centric Redmi S2 on 10th May at Suning headquarters in Nanjing, China. As of now, the company has not announced the India launch details of Redmi S2, but it is anticipated that the company would unveil it in India sooner most probably in the coming months.
Just two days before the China launch, the Chinese company has posted a new teaser on the Chinese website Weibo which indicates that the Redmi S2 will be the best smartphone in the Redmi series for capturing selfies. The rumored Redmi S2 has recently spotted on e-commerce website Aliexpress which indicates that the smartphone may soon unveil in other markets including India, apart from China.

The current official teaser has displayed the front- panel of the smartphone. The images of the upcoming Redmi S2 listed on the teaser suggests a large front-facing camera, bundled with soft LED flash which helps to capture better images during the low-light conditions. The teaser also discloses thin- bezels and rounded corners on the display panel which indicating 18:9 aspect ratio. The images in the teaser look identical to what has been leaked now.
As per another teaser, it is anticipated that selfie-centric Redmi S2 will feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The selfie shooter is likely to feature the AI Portrait mode, AI Beauty mode, and automatic HDR. The teaser also claims that Redmi S2 will be the best smartphone in the Redmi series for capturing selfies.

The e-commerce website, Aliexpress has disclosed the detail information of the Redmi S2, it will feature a 5.99-inch HD+ display with the screen resolution of 1440x720 pixels and embedded with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC.The previous reports claimed that Redmi S2 will be available in three storage variants: 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB RAM coupled with 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. The smartphone supports dual-sim cards and there is a separate slot for memory card. Under the hood, it will be powered by a 3080 mAh battery.
In term of optics, it will come with dual rear cameras and the highlighted 16-megapixel selfie shooter at the front. The fingerprint scanner is positioned underneath the rear cameras.
The listing also mentioned the price of rumored Redmi S2 will be available in the price bracket of between $165.99 ( approximately Rs 11,000) and $193.99 (approximately Rs 13,000), the price of the smartphone depends on the storage variant.
