In term of specifications, the Samsung Z4 is a dual-SIM smartphone that has a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The Samsung has said that this type of curved glass display is first of it's kind for Z-Series Tizen smartphones. The handset has been powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled along with 1GB of RAM.

The most amazing thing about this latest Samsung mobile is its camera that comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash support and at the front, it features a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash support. The company has claimed that the both rear and front camera on Samsung Z4 are optimised for social media and has features focused on convenience and creativity. On the rear, the flash module also appears to be shaped similar to the Smart Glow notification system unveiled with the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016).

The Samsung Z4 has been powered by a 2050mAh battery and it measures 132.9x69.2x10.3 mm and weighs 143 grams.

As its name represents, the Samsung Z4 is the fourth smartphone of the company in its Z series. However, it can not be termed as a successor of Samsung Z3, looks like the company has muddled the naming scheme in terms of Chronology.
