Keeping its promise, Microsoft has now released the official Windows 10 Mobile ROM for the Xiaomi Mi 4, precisely the LTE variant. The ROM's compatibility is only with the LTE version and hence will not support any variant other than that. The software can be downloaded from MIUI forum and flashed onto the device. Interested users may sign up for the Windows Insider Program, with an exclusive condition that they need an LTE version of the Xiaomi Mi for running the latest ROM.
After nine months of collaboration with the Chinese technology conglomerate, Microsoft publicly releases Windows 10 Mobile for the Xiaomi Mi 4 LTE. Earlier this week, Lin Bin, Co-Founder and President of Xiaomi, stated that the company plans to make Windows 10 Mobile publicly available of Mi 4 handsets on Thursday. An announcer for Xiaomi told to Gadgets 360, "This is a Microsoft led effort and the build they have produced only works with the China version of Mi 4".
It is worth noting that the ROM still contains some bugs and unfinished, so users should install it at their own risk. Instructions have been put up by some enthusiasts for installing the Microsoft's software on the Android handset. Behind this move, Microsoft overhauls its mobile efforts. The company's game plan is may be to get more audience to try its mobile operating system. No words have been revealed about how successful this test was. A Microsoft spokesperson has also refused to utter anything about the same.
