Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: First Smartphone With New Reversible Slot

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi after keeping its users on waiting for a long time has now finally unwrapped the much-awaited Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The device by far has only been launched in China and is getting available in two variants. The first 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage variant has been priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs 9,000) while the second one featuring 3GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity has been priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 12,000). The products foremost will start selling in China from August 26 via company's official Mi.com store.

The highlighting factor of the newly launched Redmi Note 4 is that it comes with a support for USB Type-C port and is also the first smartphone in the entire lineup of Xiaomi products to sport a new reversible slot. Another factor that makes the Android smartphone unique is its metallic build and design.

Other notable specs on the device includes a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels further protected by 2.5D curved glass and giving a pixel density of 401ppi alongside. Under the metallic design, the device is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 coupled with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. Also, both 2GB and 3GB models give memory expansion support up to 128GB.

The GSM-handset operates on company's latest MiUi 8 OS based on Android v6.0 Marshmallow and a hybrid SIM slot allowing user to combine 2 SIM cards together or one Micro-SIM followed by Micro-SD card. The device also equips a fingerprint scanner at the back end below the primary camera and dual-tone LED flash.

The gadget also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture coupled with a 5-megapixel camera on the front side. The comapny claims the camera is able to click nearly 85-degree wide-angle shots while the rear camera has the ability to record 1080p videos at a rate of 30fps.

Other then the fingerprint sensor, the device also comes equipped with a infrared sensor. In terms of connectivity, the device offers support for GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and GLONASS. The handset is backed by a 4100mAh battery and measures 151x76x8.35mm in dimensions. The company has decided to unveil the product in three color variants namely Gold, Gray, Silver and with a weight of 175 grams.
