Xiaomi's VP Confirms the Launch of Mi-5 on Feb. 24

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's VP Hugo Barra recently tweeted about the release of the company's next flagship product Xiaomi Mi-5 confirming the launch date of Mi 5 to be Feb. 24, 2016. The tweet also contained images of the upcoming Mi-5, stating, "all you ever imagined, and more" with a big 5 written in the middle.

Later, Xiaomi India head Manu Jain also posted the same teaser from his twitter handle. All the speculations and rumors about Mi-5 has come to an end with this official announcement. Xiaomi Mi-5 was in the news few days back, when its images and features were leaked online.

Xiaomi Mi-5 is supposed to have a 5.2-inch display with 2K or QHD resolution and may also have 4GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi-5 can be launched in two different variants of 16 GB and 64 GB. The smartphone is expected to have a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OSI) while, the front camera is supposed to have an 8-megapixel sensor. It is also rumored that the phone will feature the metal body with a fingerprint sensor.

However, the Xiaomi Mi-5 will come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor. The premium version (64GB) of Xiaomi Mi-5 is expected to be priced around Rs 31,750 and the standard version at Rs 22,750.
