Google Brings New Voice Controlling App for Android

Google should have presented its 'Voice Access' feature one year back at the last year's Google I/O conference, however, it never happened. However, as per the latest reports, the organization has at last launched a Voice Access beta application making use of which the users can control several feature elements of their Android smartphone with voice command.

Users can now verbally give commands, for example, 'Open chrome' to open the program or 'go home' to revert back to the handset's home screen. Not at voice apps are same and hence this is what differentiates this voice access beta app that permits a user to give voice commands that can be used from anywhere as a part of the smartphone's interface. Additionally, similar to smart dials, this app too uses number shortcuts to launch a particular feature, for example, A user can speak number '8' in case he wants to fire an application ensuring that the Voice Access app doesn't confuse the pronunciation.

Users can give different voice commands to control their smartphone

"We recently launched Voice Access Beta, an app that allows people who have difficulty manipulating a touch screen due to paralysis, tremor, temporary injury or other reasons to control their Android devices by voice. For example, you can say "open Chrome" or "go home" to navigate around the phone, or interact with the screen by saying "click next" or "scroll down," said Eve Andersson, Manager, Accessibility Engineering at Google on the company's blog post.

To simplify the downloading process, Google has a committed page for the beta application (at present at v1.0). But, since the app has been downloaded too much by the testers so at present the download page shows that the app currently is not available for download, however, one can expect a global rollout for the same in the future. In the meantime, enthusiastic users who wish to experiment can surely download the Google-signed application from APK Mirror to sideload.
