Google Chrome 48 Released With Security Fixes

Google Inc. has announced the release of  version 48.0, of its Chrome browser for all PC and Mobile users. The update is available for Linux, Windows and OS X operating systems. More than 37 security issues have been resolved in this newest version of Chrome.

The Chrome v48 mainly focuses on fixing various bugs, which were deteted in February 2015, by implying Address Sanitizer, Control Flow Integrity and Memory Sanitizer codes. The released version is more stable and can be used for the web browsing and the cross-platform functions across the Globe by Windows, Mac and Linux users. However, no statement has been produced in regard to Android and iOS users.

"The Chrome team is delighted to announce the promotion of Chrome 48 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac and Linux," said Krishna Govind. "Chrome 48.0.2564.82 contains a number of fixes and improvements. Watch out for upcoming Chrome and Chromium blog posts about new features and big efforts delivered in 48."

Chrome Browser has more than 1 Billion users, and a major platform used by Web Developers and is also used for Web Browsing purposes. The new edition of Chrome will help all these users avail advanced push notification services. Push notification has been added on chrome Apps and extension since May 2010 and has been delivering more than 350 Million push notifications every day. This feature has now been further advanced with Chrome 48, by allowing custom buttons for push notifications, which help users to complete the tasks within the notification.

RC4 has been widely used in a web browser and Online Encryption purposes, since 1987. The news in February 2015, which reported the possibility of Decryption of RC4 led to the prohibition of it's further use in online services for security purposes.

The recent security fixes incorporate extensions that can overcome the issues reported on RC4 Chiper platform. In this version of Chrome v48, RC4 has been replaced with HTTPS Encryption. The reported security issues of RC4 had led to the denial of its further use by the Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF). The latest release by Google is just in agreement with the above-mentioned vow by ITEF.
