In this session, Google seems busy in pulling curtains from its brand-new products. After mesmerizing the world by latest Nexus devices and Android 5.0 Lollipop, now tech giant has announced its new Messenger App for Android phones. The Application has been cataloged on Play store and it can be downloaded for devices that are running on Android 4.1 and higher versions.
Back in October, it has been rumored that company is bringing its new messenger to compete with WhatsApp. And, now its intuitive and delightful Material Design as well as impressive features are giving authenticity to previous reports. Taking about the attributes of Google's new quest, which confers upgraded Google Search App along with ability to search within it using the 'Ok Google' voice command.
Unlike Hangouts, it will capacitate the users to send and receive SMS and MMS to any phone as well as images,videos and audio messages just like the traditional services. Notably, it also provides an option to block SMS senders along with support for emoticons, colored text threads, message archiving. By selecting or taking files directly from App, users can share them with friends and family with ease.
Here, it has been said to come as a pre-installed app on Android Lollipop alongside Hangouts. As we know, Google's Hangouts application was criticized due to several missing features. Well, new service might allure the subscribers of Hangouts for whom Gmail sign-in is a bit annoying. As yet, Messaging has become a new playing field for tech companies, where WhatsApp and Snapchat is still dominating this segment.
