Google to build its Third Permanent Campus in Hyderabad, India

The biggest search engine giant Google has decided to open its own permanent campus in Hyderabad, India. The Company is all ready to sign an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Telangana government. It is a legal document which is signed for accepting the terms and conditions of both parties according to each party’s requirement.

Telangana IT, Electronics and Communications Secretary Harpreet Singh told PTI, "We are likely to sign MoU with Google. They are likely to open their campus in Hyderabad." He also told that when the campus will become ready, then it would be Google’s third permanent office after US and UK. Currently the Mountain View giant is using a rented office in Hyderabad.

He didn’t tell any other detail regarding the venture. However, he said that a press conference will soon be arranged for further detail. It is expected that it would be one of the biggest campus of Google. Harpreet Singh also said, "Cisco, Airtel, Vodafone and a Taiwanese company, among others, have responded to the expression of interest floated by the government on proposed venture to make Hyderabad a Wi-Fi enabled city."

Interested companies asked for information like detailed city map and many other details that will take time. He said in answer for their requirements, "It will take time (to make the city Wi-Fi enabled) because business model is the critical issue. Making Wi-Fi is not a big problem … but how to monetise it … is the key issue."

It is expected that contract will be granted for this venture within three-four months, after completing the bidding process. And then, the infrastructure would be decided by the successful bidder and will take around six months. Singh also said, "We are planning to formally inaugurate this building on June 2 (on the first anniversary of Telangana State's formation)."
