LG Unveils New Flexible Pressure Sensors For its Commercial Ventures

LG's subsidiary client LG Innotek has built up a textile pressure sensor that adapts itself as per the environment and can prove beneficial in commercial ventures like social insurance companies, health care industries and even in manufacturing firms depending on the requirement of the company. Though the organization has not yet commercialized its technology, but has said that the sensor is way better than the presently used ones which are inflexible and quite stiff.

Explaining the designing of its sensor, the South Korean consumer electronics giant has stated that its new pressure sensor is produced using an adaptable and versatile polyurethane material that allows it to get imbibed into several products with ease. Additionally, the company has also claimed that its pressure sensor comes with the ability to detect pressure across the entirety of it's exteriors rather than focusing on certain specific points.

Users can user LG Pressure sensor to monitor their health

Not just the elasticity, the pressure sensor is durable as well and is able to withstand temperature range as low as 40-degrees Celsius below zero to 80-degrees Celsius above zero for more than 240 hours. Additionally, it can also withstand a weight of nearly 70 kilograms in the case that the person sits on it for nearly 100,000 times.

This new technology can prove to be quite useful in different sectors since it can be made to develop pressure-sensitive shoes or carpet to detect the movement of patient or can be used in designing pressure-sensitive golf club to improve upon golfers's grip.

Companies can use LG Pressure sensor to monitor driver details and other information

Even automobile industry can use it efficiently and productively since it would allow the companies to detect driver's posture, body type, weight, and even the adjustment of seat or pressure of an airbag.

The company has not yet declared any specific timeline for the product launch nor for the permit to use it commercially and taking into consideration the same fact, it is anticipated that for next few years these sensors won't be making way into any of the products.
