Mark Zuckerberg Visionary Approach to have 5 Billion Users by 2030

Facebook facing the heat from around the globe due to its Free Basics program doesn't seem to mar the vision Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sees. As per the vision, Zuckerberg believes to have a network of almost 5 billion users by 2030 on its social-networking website Facebook.

Recently, Facebook celebrated its 12th Anniversary on Feb. 4, 2016 at its new office and during the proceedings of the ceremony that included unveiling of a new video product for users, Zuckerberg said that the social juggernaut will have 5 billion users by 2030. His exact quote read, "We want to finish connecting everyone, we're going to do it in partnership with governments and different companies all over the world." It is worth a mention that as of now Facebook manages a network of more than 1.5 billion monthly active users.

Though the visionary approach that Zuckerberg keeps is commendable, but no matter how Facebook advertises it, it looks like it won't be able to garner much users as what is expected by Zuckerberg. The major roadblock in the advancement is the implementation of Free Basics program as many believe that it violates Net Neutrality. This argument has unvariably forced Facebook partners to sign out of the program.

Critics call this vision rather odd since it reveals the mindset of Zuckerberg who as per critics is under the belief that the global population won't be changing in the next 14 years which is the complete opposite of what researchers claim. As per the research, the world population by the end of 2030 would have easily crossed the 8.5 billion mark and the research as an add-on also claim that instead of having 5 billion users, Facebook will have a little more than 3 billion users only which too will become stagnant at some point of time.
