RailYatri unveils GPS based Train Travel app using Smartphone data

RailYatri, being the railways focused technology startup, is for routing the train on the track. It is the startup based on Railyatri.in that solely focuses upon the railway routes and their time and delays occur. The Railyatri.in has announced the launch of GPS based Train tracking app to track the location of the train by passenger's smartphone. It is very essential for the others to check for the location and the current position for the train due to the unwanted happenings and delays arising.

"With this release, the award-winning train travel app has taken the first concrete step towards the long standing train tracking challenge using smart location technology implementation requires zero capital expenditure in terms of GPS hardware costs. All it requires is one smart phone and one RailYatri traveler on each train", said RailYatri CEO and co-founder Manish Rathi, in a release.

You just need a smartphone and a travel app to track the route. The app enables the user to get the accurate location within seconds with the assignment of the train number and the route it is traveling. It happens to tell you the track of the running trains on a Google map along with its on-time or delay status. The RailRadar GPS uses the location generated by passenger's smartphone and then generates the actual location determining the train location by analyzing the pattern of locations transmitted by the smart phone, similar to how Google Maps determines the traffic on the road when one uses road transport like a car or a bus, the company said. The company claimed the failure of installing GPS on train, by the government, to be the part of the project 'SIMRAN', that was a failure of attempts due to the high project costs.
