One of the leading telcos, Tata Docomo has unveiled a wireless landline which is not only a basic traditional walky, but also has Wi-Fi support, dubbed Tata Photon Walky. This device can be used for calling and Internet purpose.
This Tata Photon Walky is a multipurpose device which can be used as landline and Wi-Fi hotspot both. This wireless landline blesses its users with internet facility. When we use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot, then it can connect upto 5 devices.
Head of Marketing, Mobility, Tata Docomo said, "Tata Photon Walky is a unique device that will give the wireless landline users an opportunity to surf internet by creating a simultaneous Wi-Fi hotspot. With Tata Photon Walky, we have addressed the internet needs of multiple users including Smartphone customers at home or on the move with a single, easy to use device."
This device is separately priced at Rs. 2,099, and will offer 3GB of data with tariff plans starting at Rs. 399 which will go upto Rs. 899 for 8GB. This is only for postpaid users though. It offers download speed of upto 3.2Mbps and you can also enjoy voice calling on the same device.
Earlier in 2014, the company had announced Photon Max Wi-Fi Duo dongle at Rs. 2,899 which is loaded with 4400mAh battery. This device is also multipurpose as it can be used as a power bank to charge electronic devices. It comes with a microSD card slot where you can store upto 32GB data.
