Xiaomi Slashes Down Price of Mi 5 And Redmi 3X By INR 2,000

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi after unveiling Xiaomi Mi 5 has now officially cut down its price in China. As per reports the price has been chopped nearly by CNY 200 (approximately Rs 2,000), making the new market value of the product stand at CNY 1,799 (generally Rs 18,100).

The Xiaomi Mi 5 32GB variant is presently available for purchase in China for CNY 1,799 (generally Rs 18,100), while the 64GB storage variant is accessible for CNY 2,099 (nearly Rs 21,100). Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB storage capacity has also been given the same price cut, and users can now purchase it for CNY 2,499 (generally Rs 25,200).

One must recall that the Mi 5 smartphone was dispatched in China in February this year and Xiaomi also unveiled Mi 5 in India on Feb 29, 2016. The smartphone was originally priced at CNY 1,999 (that equates to Rs 20,100) for the 32GB variant while the next 64GB storage variant was evaluated at CNY 2,299 (generally Rs 23,100), and the highest of the lot i.e, Mi 5 Pro was made available at CNY 2,699 (generally Rs 27,100).

Though just after a span of one month, the company did some changes in terms of price since it made the 32GB variant accessible in India for Rs 24,999. It is likely that the new price change in both the Android smartphones will likely make an impact on the products here in India as well in next few weeks.

Surprisingly not just the Mi 5, Xiaomi has also sliced down the cost of its Redmi 3X smartphone. The handset was originally unveiled in the month of June for CNY 899 (nearly Rs 9,000) and was sold only by China Unicom. Now, the Redmi 3X has got a price cut of CNY 100 (equals to Rs 1,000) and is now available for purchase all over in the Chinese markets for a price of CNY 799 (generally Rs 8,000).

Though the company has not yet launched Redmi 3X in the Indian market, but to compensate for it, it surely has launched the Redmi 3S smartphone pricing it for INR 6,999.
