Xiaomi has tighten up the belts to launch a new service in the market. The company has planned to disclose Mi Protect Insurance Service for its smartphones and tablets to feature impressive plans. The idea has been bought up through Mi.com website. The Xiaomi users will get a privilege to protect the smartphones and regain the price in case of the devices affected by accidental damage, liquid damage, falling, collision and other such damages.
The insurance service would be based on the model of the device and the type of Mi Protect plan the user opts for. The plan not only provides the coverage over the damages from outside, but also redeems the money in case of SIM misused by the other person. The plan provides the free-cost pick and drop service from home, to repair the handset. It has an additional advantage for the users to block their SIM cards of the stolen device from anywhere around the world.
The service provides the user with the SIM misuse insurance cover of up to Rs. 3,000. It also provides 1GB of cloud storage feature as a part of the service. The plan includes the free assistance to new smartphone users and second servicing of the device within 1 year from activation. Users would just need to call on 1800 407 333333/1800 1233330/8080 333333 to avail the Mi Protect services if the device is damaged.
The Mi Protect plan costs Rs. 275 for Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime, while it costs Rs. 499 for Mi 4 16GB, Mi 4i 16GB and Mi Pad. The cover is valid only for the device which is up to two years old and the validity survival is of one year. For this insurance cover, the company has collaborated with OneAssist, which would reach the customer to provide the service to the damaged device and follow the process after confirmation.
