Xiaomi is planning to get down its own designed processor for a low range Redmi series by 2016. Chinese manufacturer is in great demand, as it is now coming up with two eye-catching smartphones.
Currently, Xiaomi is using Qualcomm or MediaTek in its smartphones except Xiaomi Redmi 2A, which is backed up by Leadcore chipset. It is expected that the two newly designed handsets, Xiaomi MIUI7 and MI5, will soon be launched with the Qualcomm chipset support, most probably Snapdragon 820. The launching date so far scheduled is 13th August with MIUI7's release confirmed. Both the smartphones will be unveiled on its Product Launch Event at China National Convention Center. It might be a big release as reported, with a grand launch of the two best handsets in range.
Xiaomi has not forecasted anything officially, but the Chinese website CN Beta has revealed the information about launching its own processor by early 2016. It is also reported that the company has recently hired Qualcomm China Head Wang Xiang, which will help to speed up the process and has also acquired the full range of ARM core licenses. The company will soon be a big brand with a launch of its own processor for low-end Redmi series initially and for high edge devices later on.
Apple, Samsung and Huawei also use their own chipset processors, so being in the same race Xiaomi has to be different to prove its incredibility in the market.
