Microsoft is the World's biggest software manufacturer company. This company was established on April 4, 1975, by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Initially, The company was manufacturing Basic Interpreters for Altair 8800 which was a microcomputer. It grew up and made the first operating system which was named MS-DOS. With Frequent upgrades to this, they have found GUI (Graphical user interface) which was much easier than DOS. They launched their first GUI based Operating system i.e Windows 95. Today, their latest operating system is Windows 8.

The company has made flexible yet secure operating systems which work on different microprocessors from different manufacturers like Intel and AMD. Microsoft has recently launched their much awaited operating system for mobile phone which is named as Windows phone 8. An upgrade to this is on the way with version 8.1.
