Renault is going to launch the next generation 2016 Koleos in the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. Some of the images of this new SUV have been leaked online prior to the official launch i.e scheduled on April 25, 2016. Koleos is based on the Nissan X-Trail Common Module Family platform, offering unique design on exterior counterpart. The rear looks like inspired from the Kadjar sedan and Renault Talisman.
The new Koleos shares same length of wheelbase with the X-Trail, which is around 2,705mm. However, it’s length and width is comparatively longer and wider, turn out to be 4,672mm and 1,843mm respectively. For China market, the new Koleos will be offered in two engine options, both petrol engines- 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre. It will get a six speed manual or automatic transmission.
The new Koleos will be produced locally at the Renault-Nissan group’s joint-venture in Dongfeng facility. As far as other markets are concerned, the automaker will manufacture the model at Renault’s Busan plant located in South Korea. However, the company has not made any announcement for India launch of this model yet.
