Aprilia RS 150 and Tuono 150 was debuted in front of the audience at the 2018 Auto Expo. Both the motorcycles got appreciated a lot for their styling being shared by its elder sibling along with a host of components. Then, the bikes were scheduled to launch by this year runs out or in early 2019. Although, a recent official affirmation reveals delay in launch till 2020. It could be because of the brand’s homologation process or market study. Clearly, Aprilia needs more time before rolling out such products in lower displacement.
Based on a perimeter frame, the motorcycle gets equipped with 40mm USD fork, monoshock, swingarm; 300mm and 218mm discs brakes respectively at the front and rear. The ABS is also being offered as the standard unit. Priced it, competitively against the Yamaha R15 V3 will be difficult for Aprilia with such features.
Beneath the fuel tank, there is a 150cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is being said to generate the peak power of 18 HP along with 14 Nm of torque. A thought of placing a bigger engine and positioned these bike in higher displacement category could also be the reason behind pushing the launch to 2020.
In the mentioned segment, the RS 150 and the Tuono 150 will see the competition with the likes of the KTM Duke and RC 200.
