Bajaj Dominar 400 Hits Production Line; Go On Sale by Mid December

The highly anticipated 400cc cruiser sport- Bajaj Dominar 400, since its global debut at the 2014 Auto Expo, was a questionable subject in the motoring market. Now, the announcement from the Bajaj stable is that the bike maker has commenced the production of the Dominar 400 at the Chakan, Maharashtra-based manufacturing unit. As the name suggest, the brand will dominate the Pulsar and Avenger brands in the current lineup. Moreover, produced under the supervision of women engineers, the first lot of motorcycle has rolled out of the workshop and the spy images are making the buzz on the social media.

As the rendering reveals, ready to hit the Indian motoring segment by 15 December, the market-ready Dominar 400 is almost similar in terms of design and styling to the showcased Bajaj CS400 concept at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The LED headlamp, twin instrument console on handlebar and on the fuel tank, tell-tale lights, conventional inverted forks in place of concept’s USD front fork and rear mono shock suspension are the highlighted features of the Bajaj Dominar.

Powering duties will be the concern of a revived powertrain used in the new KTM Duke 390. A 373cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark, fuel-injected mill which is rated to breathe out 40 bhp of power and 30 Nm of peak torque via a mated six-speed transmission. However, the reports suggest the engine has been tuned to churn out 34 bhp of power for the cruiser sport- Dominar 400. The ABS equipment is ambiguous, it is not confirmed yet that it will be offered in single channel or dual channel mechanism. Well, the ABS is anticipated as an optional feature, if not provided as standard.

On rivalry, the Bajaj Dominar 400 will lock his horns with the available range of Royal Enfield in the cruising segment. The motorcycle will be fall in the price bucket of INR 1.6 lakh to INR 1.8 lakh, ex-showroom.
