Bajaj Launched New Pulsar 220F in India With a BS4 Engine

Bajaj this time has made a quiet launch of the upgraded Pulsar 220F in the country priced at Rs 91,000 (ex-showroom, Thane). The bike will be available at an on-road price of Rs 1.03 Lakh, which is Rs. 4,000 more the the previous variant. The company has not upgraded the model since the last update of fuel injection to carburetor in 2010, after which the company had also removed ‘F’ from the title.

But this time, the company has made some changes in the engine part which is supposed to increase the performance of the bike. This time the beast will be available with a BS4 compliant engine, which according to some source will make the bike capable to perform quieter operation and will also deliver power in a more linear and smoother way.

Apart from this, the new Bajaj Pulsar 220F with the help of a 5-speed transmission unit delivers a maximum power of 21.05PS@8,500rpm with a torque of 19.12Nm@7,000rpm just like its preceder according to a source. Other visual changes of the sportsbike includes softer seats, a latest digital meter with blue backlighting, manual choke, red and black paint scheme, a black end can and red strips on the black alloys.

Yet the company has not said a word on the changes they’ve made in the latest variant, but these changes are expected to be seen in the upgraded monster. Moreover, the new and upgraded range of Pulsar will soon be seen hitting the roads. There were rumors that the upcoming range will be blessed by a design similar to the NS which doesn't have a base at all. The new and upcoming models will be fueled with a BS4 compliant engine with some aforementioned changes.

As Hero has discontinued its Karizma, the upcoming variants will now compete against Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha Fazer Fi in the Indian market.
