Bajaj Launches All-New Pulsar 160 NS in India; Priced at Rs 82,400

Bajaj Auto, one of the leading two wheeler manufacturers in India, has silently introduced the brand new Pulsar 160 NS in the existing product line-up, and it has been priced at Rs 82,400 (ex-showroom, Pune). As, the bike maker launched this much-anticipated naked streetfighter without any official confirmation, so, a formal launch announcement, and revision in price post GST is also expected. As per the Autocar India report, the bike is available to purchase at several dealerships in Pune and Mumbai. Apart from India, there are a few other countries like Nepal and Turkey which have the availability of the Pulsar NS 160 in their product lineup and a long before from here.

Powering the Pulsar NS 160 is a 160.3cc single cylinder, oil-cooled engine. Fundamentally, the motor is capable of generating the utmost power of 15.3bhp at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 NM of towering torque at 6,500 rpm. But, the official engine specs are not revealed by the Bajaj yet. The power transmission to the rear wheel will be done by the mated a five speed gearbox.

Stands on 17-inch wheels shod up with an 80/100 tyre at the front and 110/80 tyre at the rear, the Pulsar NS 160 suspended on conventional front forks and rear monoshock. While the braking will come from the 40mm disc brake setup up front and 130mm drum brake unit at the rear. Other than this, the other noteworthy features include split seats, split grab rails, LED tail lamp, etc.

Based on the steel perimeter frame shared from the elder brother, the Pulsar NS 200, the motorcycle in question weighs 142kg in kerb weight, around 10 kg lighter than the Pulsar NS 200. Altogether, it also received the fitment of a thinner box-section swingarm than the elder NS 200. While, the dimension wise, the Pulsar NS 200 is identical to the Pulsar NS 200.

In terms of rivalry, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 will go in competition with the likes of the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-S in the segment.
