Benelli Tornado 302R Launch Confirmed in May 2017, Bookings Commence

Benelli Tornado 302R, the first fully-faired bike in the DSK Benelli stable is all set to launch in India in May 2017. According to the sources, the bike launch will take place soon in the early weeks of the upcoming month, may be on 10th May. And, as the bookings for the motorcycle has already been commenced at a token amount of Rs 25,000, the Tornado 302R would confirmed launch on the mentioned date. Thereafter, the deliveries, which is based on first-come-first-serve theory, will start from 15th may.

Though The Tornado 302R was scheduled to launch early this year, but owing to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) clearance issue delayed the motorcycle launch till next month.

The Benelli 302R which a faired sibling of its naked sibling, TNT 300, looks distinctive only from upfront. In Fact, the full fairing studded with twin headlamp makes it apart from TNT 300. While the rear section resembles as it is of TNT 300.

Tornado 302 R Front

Based on a steel-tube trellis frame, the 302R is a single unit from front to rear, as it is directly connected to steering head and rear place swing arm pivot, which offers outstanding stability on a straight run and dynamic control on the corners. Mounted on USD forks upfront and an adjustable rear monoshock, the motorcycle runs on new alloy wheels, which are expected to be wrapped with Metzelers tyres. To control this sports beast, the Benelli has anchored it with 260mm dual discs at the front and single 240mm disc at the rear. Other than this, the dual channel ABS is also expected to be offered.

Talking about the engine spec, under the skin, the Tornado 302R will be bolted with a 300cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The mill generates 38PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and delivers 27.4Nm of peak torque at 9,000 rpm. Mated a six-speed gearbox, helps in sending all the generated power to the rear wheel.

Once launched in India, the Tornado 302R will go head to head with the likes of available competitors in the segment, the KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the forthcoming TVS Akula 310.
