An all-new concept model in the adventure sports segment, the 9cento has been rendered by the Germany based motorcycle brand, BMW Motorrad. The unveiling of the motorcycle took place at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este this year.
In regards to concept hitting the production line, there is no official announcement made by the auto major. However, the facts like its unveiling at the renowned Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este event and its moniker 9cento makes us believe that this concept will definitely see the production phase. Here are a few products in BMW’s lineup like the R nine T and the K 1600B which were exhibited at the same show. While, its moniker 9cento refers to nine hundred, that says this upcoming adventure sport will be a 900cc parallel twin motorcycle in growing segment. Expectations suggest, it could be entitled as the F900XR and will go in competition with the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Yamaha Tracer.
With this concept, the bikemaker comes up with a host of innovative ideas. As the pillion rider will get the seat from the space provided by the linked storage unit into the rear carrier. The availability of a powerful electromagnet helps in holding the storage case firmly to the lower section of the rear carrier. Furthermore, the elements on which the bike maker kept its focus were suspension setup, fairing and windscreen design for extraordinary comfort and riding experience.

The production-ready prototype of the BMW 9cento adventure sports is expected to display in front of the global audience at the EICMA show next year. While its Indian emergence is in darkness as of now. Though, the growing demand and a wide room for segment expansion make us believe its introduction in the country is possible in coming future.
