Last year, the German bike maker, BMW Motorrad showcased its street tracker, called BMW G 310 R at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. Now, one report is revealed that the firm is working on an adventure tourer motorcycle that is based on the G 310R and it might be known as the BMW G 310 GS. These days, two wheeler makers are adopting a new strategy of developing new products on a single or existing platform that saves cost, time of the assembling process.
Mr. Phil Horton, Director of BMW Motorrad said, "New models aside, the line-up isn’t as comprehensive as it needs to be. But there are plenty more bikes to come, including, hopefully in 2017, a G 310 R GS-style derivative. That’s quite an interesting proposition in itself."
Moreover, the firm has not exposed any details about design, power and mechanical and there is also not confirm that the name of the bike will be G 310 GS or not. But it is expected that the design will be borrowed from the its elder siblings such as the F 700 GS or the R 1200 GS. This new tourer bike will help the company to get a strong foothold in the adventure category and it could be engineered in Germany and assembled in India with the collaboration of its Indian arms TVS Motors.
