BMW i8 Hybrid Supercar Coming to India on February 18

The German automaker BMW's much-hyped hybrid sports car i8, which has been scheduled to get launched in India in February, will be coming on the 18th of this month. This car has already been displayed at various event like Auto Expo 2014 and recently it has been spotted at dealerships as well. Talking about the car, it is actually the first production car to feature laser-beam headlights, but its German counterpart Audi launched R8 LMX to hold the crown in India. It'll also be price at approximately INR 2.0 Crore Ex-showroom, thus making it one of the most luxurious cars available in the Indian market.

Under the bonnet, BMW i8 has an electric motor for the front wheels attached with the 2-speed gearbox and a 1.5 Litre 3-cylinder petrol engine for the rear wheels with 6-speed gear box system. In total, the system will produce 360 bhp power and 570 Nm torque. There also is a 3rd electric motor which will act as a starting element and will fit the torque gaps in between.

It can reach to the 100 km/h mark from standstill position in just 4.4 seconds before hitting the top speed of 250 km/h. The car is a coupe with 2+2 seating capacity and for sure will luring a lot of people.
