BMW to Enter Officially by Adventure Tourer S1000XR in India

The German two-wheeler maker, BMW Motorrad is planning to make its official entry in the Indian market, which is known as ocean of opportunities in various segments. The automaker first created sensation in the Indian audience by revealing its joint-venture naked street fighter, TVS-BMW G310R, in partnership with home-based manufacturer, TVS Motor company and  now the BMW Motorrad is going to turn this sensation into total craziness for BMW products, by its adventure tourer offering-BMW S1000XR. The adventure tourer S1000XR may be displayed with TVS-BMW G310R, naked roadster at Delhi Auto Expo in the month of February.

The BMW S1000XR is the first adventure sports motorcycle by the German automaker. The adventure sports S1000XR  is a blend of performance and comfort altogether, it gets dynamic features of a sports racing, while  upright seating, flat wider handlebars and powerful engine made it a comfortable adventure machine.

If talking about mechanical aspects, the BMW S1000XR houses the detuned version engine of the roadster S1000R. The adventure gets the exceptional power of 160 hp at 11,000 revs and peak torque of 112 Nm at 9,250 revs per minute from a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-4-cylinder and DOHC engine. The motor is coupled to a constant mesh six-speed transmission to transfer the propelling power to rear wheel.

Additionally, the adventure tourer comes furnished with riding modes( Rain & Road), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and the Anti-Lock Braking System for better performance. The suspension duties performed by upside-down telescopic forks at front and aluminum 2-sided swing arm at rear. The important role of stopping the motorcycle has been played by 320mm dual discs with 4 piston calipers at front and 265mm single disc with dual piston floating caliper at the rear wheel altogether with Brembo reliability.

The motorcycle will compete with Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Ducati Multistrada in the Indian market and will hit the market at the price tag of approx. INR 27 lakh (ex-showroom).
